Як повідомили журналістам Чортків.City у Чортківському відділі поліції, на лінію «102» 25 березня о 18-й год. 10 хв. від диспетчера рятувальників надійшла інформація такого змісту: «На території недіючої колишньої хімчистки в електрощитовій горить дитина».

На місці події слідчо-оперативній групі стало відомо, що восьмикласник разом із п’ятьма неповнолітніми товаришами (усі 2004-2005 р. н. на вказаній території грав у хованки. Місце, яке обрали для розваг дітлахи, було огороджене, але не охоронялося. У ході гри хлопчаки зайшли в приміщення електрощитової. Одного з них вдарило струмом; від цього дитина загинула на місці, оскільки крізь тіло пройшла висока напруга.

Діти стверджують, що двері трансформаторної підстанції були відчинені. Правоохоронці з’ясовуватимуть, чому вхід до щитової був не замкнутий.

Нещасний випадок внесено до Єдиного реєстру досудових розслідувань за ст. 115 ч. 1 Кримінального кодексу України.

Хто відповідатиме за смерть неповнолітнього, встановить слідство.

А ось що пише в соцмережах хлопчина на ім’я Олександр, який був на місці трагедії: «Ми з друзями на ту покинуту хімчистку кажемо «пінопласти». Там вирішили зіграти у хованки. Поділилися, один (Микола) мав шукати, а ми залізли в будівлю, де був трансформатор. Туди зайти було легко, стояли аж під стіною всі вкупі. Коли Коля нас усіх запримітив, то Денис сказав, що не хоче «палитись» і заліз у щиток. Уже біля вхідних дверей я почув «жужання» і тріскотню, обернувся і побачив, що мій друг лежить… Я хотів його врятувати, але марно, бо знав, якщо до нього доторкнусь, то загину, тому побіг кликати на допомогу старших»…

Розпорядженням міського голови у Чорткові 26-27 березня оголошено днями жалоби.{:}{:en}
